Acomplia
Acomplia (rimonabant) is a potent medicine intended for the treatment of obesity in patients with a number of other health problems, such as high cholesterol and diabetes. It works by reducing your appetite and allowing you to do with less food without suffering from it. Patients taking Acomplia during a series of trials reported improved array of cardiometabolic factors as well as significant weight loss they managed to maintain. Acomplia is supposed to be combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise for best effects and usually comes in 20 mg dose. You are not supposed to crush the tablet of Acomplia - just make sure you take it with a full glass of water, usually once a day. It’s very important to take Acomplia regularly to make sure the medicine remains at the same level in your bloodstream. If you happened to miss a dose, you can take it as soon as you remember unless it’s almost time for another dose. In that case just skip the dose missed and go back to the regular dosing schedule. The following side effects are possible when you are taking Acomplia regularly, especially at the beginning of the treatment: dizziness, nausea, vomiting, depressions, nausea, diarrhea, and sleep problems. Make sure you report any of these mild side effects to your health care provider in case they get particularly bothersome. Other side effects are also possible, but these are most common ones. Acomplia can be taken for several months, but if you want to take it for longer than 2 years, talking to your health care provider is required. In case of taking any medications that may potentially interfere with the effects of Acomplia and make your treatment less successful – also tell your doctor about it. The following drugs are usually not supposed to be used in combination with Acomplia because of the possibility of developing side effects that could be avoided: St. John’s wort, depression medications, antidiabetes medications, drugs for normal blood lipid levels, antidepressants, HIV medications, rifampicin, medicines for weight loss, epilepsy drugs, antifungals, and certain antibiotics. Store this drug in some dry cool place out of the reach of children and other people to whom it was not prescribed. It’s important that you do not share your Acomplia with other people, as you will not be able to determine which dose will be safe for them to take if they have certain health aspects.
